User Guide

This guide is for everyone who uses SEC-IMS — to browse the catalogue, explore the map, download data, submit datasets, or access the system programmatically.

Who this guide is for

  • General public — browse the data catalogue, view maps, download datasets.
  • Public data submitters — contribute datasets through the public submission workflow without needing an account.
  • Registered users and contributors — authenticated users with tokens who edit metadata, upload files, and update their own records.
  • Government and agency staff — designated custodians responsible for specific data domains.

If you administer the running system or its underlying infrastructure, the Administrator Guide and Deployment Guide are distributed separately to authorised personnel.

How this guide is organised

The guide is read-in-order for first-time users, but each chapter stands on its own as reference material.

Chapter 7 (Programmatic Access) is the only technical chapter — skip it if you only use the web interface.
